Municipal Software needed to update its marketing materials which had helped build the company from its small beginnings but no longer suited its needs.

The first order of business was to transition the logo for the company’s flagship product, CityView, to a fresher, more contemporary appearance.

The company’s website required a complete overhaul. New requirements, such as integrating dynamic output from CityView itself and a dynamic client support section dictated the use of what were, at that time, cutting edge technologies.

The site was built driven by a newly released Content Management System and a SQL Server database and structured using CSS. Content was simplified and the language targeted strategically at key decision-makers. Navigation was completely restructured to allow access to every page in the site with only three clicks or less.

The company was making a shift from custom development house to supplier of off-the-shelf solutions. New packaging imagery was created for all of the new products as well as existing ones to tie everything into a common family and reinforce the concept of out-of-the-box software.

Product literature was completely rewritten in a simpler, friendlier tone. The technical jargon-heavy language was eliminated in favour of a straightforward, value proposition-based approach.

Conference Posters

Used at CityView User Conference. The new brand identity for CityView was rolled out across all of the company’s materials. Employees were provided with an intranet site that contained templates, graphic standards guidelines, etc.

Trade Show Displays

Used at various trade shows and sales events. Each sales office throughout North America was provided with new display inserts for all existing hardware to ensure consistency across all public-facing activities.

Corporate Annual Report

Municipal’s third Annual Report coincided with a dramatic shift in the company’s focus and product direction. The theme of ”Experience + Solutions” reinforces the new direction and refocus investors on Municipal’s 23 years of direct experience providing software solutions for local government. The report was printed via a print-on-demand service, to reduce cost and waste.
